Japanese Fall

Fall is slowly creeping in. The air is colder and the leaves are beginning to change their colors. These create an atmosphere that is melancholic yet delightful. The cold and gloom makes me long for the people closest to my heart.
Last year was my first real experience with the autumn season. When I think about it, fall highlights the indisputable beauty of the world. It teaches us that there is beauty in every stage of life. In Japan, where houses, buildings and other structures are built to harmonize with nature, the beauty of fall is even more perceptible.

Here are some of my photos from last fall at Hoshi no Buranko bridge.

This fall, my plan is to revisit Arashiyama. It is a popular attraction that showcases both nature and culture. I wanted to see it draped in fall colors as I was not able to visit it last year (during autumn).

To those who are planning to visit Japan during fall, here are some tips for you. First is to wear warm clothes so that you can be comfortable amidst the cold air. Also, be prepared for rain showers. Wear something that is rainproof and stops you from getting soaked. The same principle applies if you are carrying expensive gadgets or devices by using waterproof or resistant bags.
Wherever you are in the country, you are bound to see some beautiful sceneries. So I really suggest having a camera ready for the beautiful sights.

Another tip is to wake up early. This is to get the most out of your day. Remember that daylight is shorter during fall. So if you want to see and experience as much as possible, start your day early.

I also recommend visiting in the early part of the season which is around mid-November when the temperature is still comfortable and tree branches are still full of leaves in fall colors. And just like with most things in life, fall is more fun when with friends.
