Finally, a more personal post after a long time. The title says all about the current status of my blog, career, and life as a whole.

“There is no certainty, only opportunity”.

Blog

You might have noticed that, finally, I migrated to WordPress! Yehey! (slow clap please hehe) Honestly, I went through a lot of adjustments with the layout, themes, and plugins. It took days before I was able to launch giddychiq.com again. But now it’s all good! There are still things I want to adjust and change but it can be done gradually, so no biggies. Anyway, a thank you is in order for my forever partner in crime, bbgurl! Migration and tweaking was easier because of her help. A thank you shout-out too to the CS rep of Hostgator for resolving my domain issue. Thank you!

Career

I always told myself that if an opportunity is given for me to be able to work abroad, I would grab it.

It was really unexpected. I got a call telling me that I have been chosen for the final interview. I don’t even remember that I applied for that position. Later on, upon checking my previous emails, it dawned on me that I did apply online but that was year or months ago. You see, I never really expected anything to come out from that online application. So, I checked the agency license in POEA, sought advise from my family and friends, thought hard about it, considered my options and booked a flight to Manila for that final interview! I got in and began processing the requirements.

Now if everything goes well, I’m flying to Qatar next month for a new job, a new country, new culture and new environment. To be frank, I have mixed feelings. I feel excited, anxious,  and somehow afraid but all these are nothing compared to my desire to put myself in a better position, financially and professionally. At the end of the day, it all comes down to your goals, dreams and plans. If you have that burning desire to achieve or do something, you will find and do all ways to get that.

I know it will not be easy. I know there are uncertainties and problems that will arise. But it’s all part of life and I’m ready to unravel that next phase. I must say the quote I had above describes exactly my current situation. There are no certainties, it’s what you make of every opportunities given to you that matters.
