Iphone Vs Samsung

Samsung:

Today’s verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. Consumers have the right to choices, and they know what they are buying when they purchase Samsung products. This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple’s claims. Samsung will continue to innovate and offer choices for the consumer. http://www.technobaboy.com/2012/08/25/apple-wins-infringement-case-samsung-pay-1-billion/

As we all know, Apple wins Infringement case in the US and ordered Samsung to pay a hefty $1billion.

I just have to say that these patent laws is killing the competition, therefore killing innovations and improvement of technology. It just that Apple was the first to patent those unnecessary things, but are they proud enough to say that they were the one who first invented it? A big NO- because they weren’t! They were also just improving and innovating those technologies invented and discovered long ago, for crying out loud! I wonder if they’ll keep on doing this, like with Google- that would really be a downfall for them. We all know Google now owns Motorola which can be considered as the pioneer in making cellular phones, therefore means that Motorola has a lot of first designs and first what not that obviously Apple also copied.

The thing is the law and the Supreme Court are also entertaining these kinds of suit- what, for the money? There are a lot more pressing matters than helping kill technology and innovation.

The Apple v. Samsung case will have repercussions across the industry. Will the court’s ability to determine the high degree of similarity between the devices in question result in greater innovation and more variety for consumers? Or will the court’s decision to uphold a patent regarding something as arbitrary as a phone’s shape result in companies scrapping perfectly good ideas for fear of legal retribution? Only time will tell how the industry will adapt. http://www.dailytargum.com/inside_beat/video_games/apple-v-samsung-protecting-innovation-or-stifling-competition/article_3fae7244-fa32-11e1-b2b4-0019bb30f31a.html
