Sarangani Bay Festival 2012

After months of planning, months of arranging and adjusting our schedules, the trip to Gumasa has finally pushed through last weekend. We were not complete but KC really urged us to go even without her. Honestly, I wasn’t that ecstatic for the trip as originally I planned to spend the weekend with my family to celebrate my birthday. But to make the story short- it pushed through and what can I say? I’m thankful it did. Not only did we enjoy the experience, I also learned a lot about friendship, trust and respect. (oops, in another post, i think) πŸ˜›
It was our first time to go in Glan, Sarangani and also our first time to witness and experience Sarangani Bay Festival. It was the seventh year of the said event and a lot of activities were prepared by the officials and organizers. For the list of event, you can find it here.
We arrived to discover that there were no more vacant cottages in our preferred resort, Coco Beach and Rosal Beach. There was a part of the shoreline where the activities and booths were situated and places where you can set up your tent for free.  However, to be safe we opted to set up our tent in White Haven Resort for Php100.
We arrived there on the 19th so all we have left to watch out for, are the fireworks display, Kjwan Band and the all night beach party. After we had our lunch, we toured and explored the shore line and the activity area. There were a LOT of people, I’ve never been to Boracay but I can say that it pretty looks the same to Boracay’s Station 1, 2 and 3. (assuming lang)
There we were, tried out having Henna tattoo. We liked it for like 5-10 minutes but after 30 minutes of patiently waiting for it to dry, we regretted it! It was so dirty, the ink melted like ice cream and it scattered all over our skin! Duh! And now we were suffering of having to endure it for 1-2 weeks. It cannot be erased just like that, not even with an acetone.
Bumped into our highschool friend Uriel. πŸ™‚ Later that night we settled up our tent next to theirs. Just to have some protection you know, we were all girls. πŸ˜€

Finally, Iris uploaded the pictures of us in a banana boat. Yeah, we did ride the banana boat, my first! Looking at the people riding it, it felt like it was just “okay”, just riding and just that, nothing adventurous or whatsoever. But when we tried it, gosh it was so enjoyable and pretty adventurous too! You can actually get thrown in the water if you are not careful or if you’re not cautious with your balance. And yeah, one of my friend fell but no harm done as we all had our life jackets. We were really shocked, cause at that certain moment we didn’t know what to do, we can’t really grab and pull her over or we’d get thrown out into the water too. 😐

Oh yeah, Marc Abaya was in the house! He was handsome and oh soo manly! HAHA He’s the vocalist of the band Kjwan! πŸ™‚ That was also Pacu from PBB Big 4 with a girl from the crowd. Actually, the host announced that PBB 4 would be there that night. But it was only Pacu who came and said that it was because of some “security reasons” why the others did not make it! (hookay, whatever)!

My most memorable experience to date! The Fireworks display was so awesome! In the real sense of the word! Really! Well, my bf said I had nothing to compare to that’s why it was awesome for me. Yeah, it was my first time to see a fireworks display that lasted like 15-30 minutes. Still, it was amazing! I felt the sparks and lights were to fall in me. They were like enveloping the whole place, I felt like I could reach and touch it! My head and nape hurt so bad after the display but it was worth it! πŸ˜€
It was indeed a fun filled weekend for all of us! We may not be complete but we still enjoyed each other’s company, it felt like high school again. We enjoyed the place, the activities, the party that made up one great summer experience.
